ALTERNATIVE TEEPEE FESTIVAL WEDDING
MINNOWBURN ROSE GARDEN | BELFAST
Wedding Photographers Northern Ireland
It’s been quite some time since I last blogged a wedding, so thought I would start off with one of my favourites from last year.
Today I am sharing the beautiful wedding of Johnny and Aimée at Minnowburn Rose Garden: a stunning National Trust property which was only rediscovered and brought back to life in recent years.
I first heard from Johnny and Aimée at the beginning of last year. Currently living in London where Johnny is from, they were hoping their day would be more like a mini festival, something that is a big part of their lives. We met up shortly before the day to have a look around the grounds, taking some pre wed snaps along the way and quickly discovered our mutual love for Mac Demarco. I had a hunch they were my kind of people.
Their reception was held in a Magnakata teepee in the stunning grounds of Minnowburn overlooking the River Lagan. They made the entrance accompanied by the Darth Vader theme played on trumpet by Johnny’s uncle. THE DARTH VADER THEME. Aimée, a book seller, added the loveliest personal touch to the day giving every guest a Penguin book as a wedding favour. They opted for a cheese cake decorated with figs and grapes in lieu of the traditional wedding cake. Something that wouldn’t have looked out of place in a Dutch Masters painting. They danced the night away (with some Ceili thrown in for good measure) with music provided by their close friends.
I just love Aimée’s dress and Johnny’s tweed suit. It was an awesome day spent with a beautiful couple. The kind of couple that just fit together perfectly and make each other glow. Love it when that happens.
