Today we’re sharing Jude & Lee’s gorgeous Scottish-German wedding in Dunlewy, Donegal.
Jude and Lee were married last Autumn in Dunlewy at the foot of Mount Errigal, holding their reception in An Chuirt Hotel in Gweedore. They met when Jude came over from Germany to study a few years back and together, now run a surf school set up by Lee and his pal in the lovely setting of Dunfanaghy.
I arrived with Jude at their beautiful home in Dunfanaghy for a few photos of everyone getting ready before the ceremony. Jude’s parents and bridesmaids had travelled over from Germany to be with her on the day. Together with wee Oscar, they had a lovely chilled morning. Jude is a graphic designer which made for some beautiful additions to the wedding.
I just love the wild flowers they gathered for their wedding with the help of a friend.
Jude looked effortlessly striking in her delicate, floral lace Minna Hepburn dress by the amazing Archive 12 in Belfast.
Loved this sweet moment between Jude and her bridesmaids.
With the bus arriving to collect everyone, we set off en route to join Lee at Dunlewy Chapel by Mount Errigal. What a beautiful place Donegal is.
Jude arrived at the church with her dad as their friend played the bagpipes.
The ceremony was an emotional but fun one with friends and family giving readings as well as Lee’s sister and partner providing the music. “I want to Grow Old with You” from The Wedding Singer was a firm favourite. The may have stolen my idea for my own wedding. Hehe. 😉
Happy faces. 🙂
Everyone gathered outside the church in typical Irish weather for a meet and greet and a group photo. Wind and all. Troopers.
We stopped off at the Old Dunlewy Church for some photos with little Oscar.Oscar had other ideas and fancied a wee wander but we talked him around.
Then it was off to the Poisin Glenn for a few photos with Jude and Lee. That embrace ❤️
We joined everyone at An Chuirt for a drink and a mingle before dinner. Not after a few fun group shots.
Jude put a lot of effort into the gorgeous decor and centre pieces, continuing on the rustic, wild flower theme with their simple but beautiful wedding cake.
Though some of the speeches were in German, it was quite an emotional moment between Jude and her best pal, Luwi.
Before the party, the bridesmaids set up a game of Mr and Mrs. Class craic!
Such a beautiful couple.
After their first dance, they finished off the night with an epic Ceilidh. It took some ducking and diving to get these photos. Haha. A truly beaut wedding.
