THE ONE WITH AMANDA AND JAMES.

DIY BOHO VINTAGE WEDDING
CRAFT VILLAGE | DERRY | NORTHERN IRELAND

I met Amanda and James a couple of years ago as regulars in a café in the Craft Village where I used to work. Amanda ended up working there too for a time and straightaway, I was smitten. Not only is she an absolute babe (and one heck of an artist) but she loved a good bit of furniture too. We swapped Pinterest finds, cooed over G-Plan furniture out of our price range and gave each other tips on where to find cheaper alternatives. Not too long after,  Amanda became pregnant with the gorgeous little Ruby. I left my job in the café to concentrate on photography and we didn’t see each other for a while. As usual time flew quicker than I wished. Work piled up, I moved house and before I knew it, I had lost months sitting in front of a computer screen. Until one day I got an email from Amanda saying her and James were to be married in a couple of weeks and would hope that I could make it. They hoped for a laid back, intimate wedding to enjoy with their family and friends. What better way to have a long overdue catch up! I offered to take some photos and was thrilled when Amanda gave me the go ahead. Who could resist photographing these two.

The wedding was gorgeous. Amanda’s lovely friends had flown over from Scotland and everyone got ready in her and James’ super stylish apartment.  That wallpaper. *swoon*  They were married in a church in James’ hometown of Strabane, where we stopped off for a few pics in his parents’ back garden, making use of a little wagon that James’ dad had built himself. Yes. Himself! We stopped off in a rapeseed field on the way back for a few more, where I lost part of my dignity trying to hop a slanted barbed wire fence. Ripped tights and scraped legs ahoy but it was worth it for the gorgeous shots we got. The reception was held in the cute Craft Village Cottage wedding venue, with catering done by Café del Mondo, finishing up in Sandinos for a boogie. All in all, the perfect laid back wedding. I was over the moon to have Rock n’Roll Bride feature this wedding a couple of months ago. My interest in wedding photography started out by reading Kat’s column in a magazine I bought some years back so you can only imagine my delight to actually be featured by her! Hope you enjoy looking through them. Have you ever seen a more beautiful bride?
